The Move-Out Cleaning Checklist
The same room-by-room checklist our team uses on move-out details across the DMV. Work top-to-bottom, leave the kitchen and bathrooms for last, and finish with a final inspection walkthrough so nothing gets missed.
Kitchen
- Degrease range hood, stovetop, and backsplash
- Clean inside oven, drawers, and broiler pan
- Empty and wipe inside/outside of refrigerator and freezer
- Wipe inside cabinets, drawers, and shelving
- Scrub sink, faucet, and disposal; polish hardware
- Sanitize countertops and small-appliance exteriors
Bathrooms
- Descale showerheads, tile grout, and glass doors
- Disinfect toilet base, seat, tank, and surrounding floor
- Polish mirrors, vanity, and chrome fixtures
- Wipe inside vanity drawers and medicine cabinet
- Clean exhaust fan covers and light fixtures
Bedrooms & Living Areas
- Dust ceiling fans, blinds, baseboards, and door frames
- Wipe inside closets, shelves, and built-ins
- Spot-clean walls, switch plates, and outlets
- Vacuum carpets edge-to-edge; mop hard floors
- Clean window interiors, sills, and tracks
Final Inspection-Ready Details
- Replace burnt-out bulbs and dust vent covers
- Touch up scuffs on walls and trim
- Empty all trash and remove bagged debris
- Final walkthrough: lights, locks, thermostat, and seals
